The “Gemini Teacher Control” Chrome extension DOES NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.
The extension operates entirely locally within your web browser. It is designed solely to modify the behavior and appearance of the gemini.google.com website to facilitate a focused, control-oriented environment.
The extension is designed to perform the following actions, all of which occur within your browser and do not involve data transmission to external servers:
gemini.google.com/) and locally redirects the browser to the “Gems” view (gemini.google.com/gems/view).content.js and content.css) to hide specific elements on the gemini.google.com interface, such as the “New Chat” button and the side navigation menu button. This is done by applying CSS and JavaScript within your browser.
The extension requires the following permissions to function as described. These permissions are used only to modify the behavior of gemini.google.com:
webNavigation: Used to detect navigation events and perform the automatic redirect to the “Gems” page.tabs: Used in conjunction with webNavigation to execute the redirect by updating the tab’s URL.host_permissions for https://gemini.google.com/*: This grants the extension permission to read and modify the content on the specified domain to apply the interface changes (hiding buttons, links) and perform the redirection logic.
The extension does not integrate with, or transmit data to, any third-party services, analytics providers, or advertisers.
